I mean, who are the true patriots here, people who want to uphold the Constitution or those who want to ignore it by using governmental authority to inflict their religious beliefs on the rest of us?Guzzmannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7960343306536592656.post-65788012092816531312015-06-26T22:30:55.149-07:002015-06-26T22:30:55.149-07:00I find it deeply troubling that a law enforcement ...I find it deeply troubling that a law enforcement officer who has sworn to uphold the law is not aware that he is violating the supreme law of the land, the U.S. Constitution. Let's ask the Supreme Court what law the Sheriff has broken : "The First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution mandates governmental neutrality between religion and religion, and between religion and nonreligion.” Epperson v. Arkansas, 393 U.S. 97, 104 (1968); Everson v. Board of Ed. of Ewing, 330 U.S. 1, 15—16 (1947); Wallace v. Jaffree, supra, at 53.<br />The Sheriff is a government employee. He promoted religion donning his government-issued uniform while acting in his official capacity as a government employee, using his government title and position. He violated the central First Amendment principal of official religious neutrality. Sheriff Judd has abused his government office, position, title, and uniform to preach a religious message. The only question meriting serious discussion is why the sheriff doesn't get that he is breaking the law.Guzzmannoreply@blogger.com
