Police show up at a home to arrest an 11 year old. Mother asks to see the warrant. Police arrest mother and leave the 11 year old at home

Slaton police came to this woman's house, who wishes to remain anonymous, to arrest her son. But by asking one simple question, she found herself behind bars instead.

"I told him, 'I will release my son to you upon viewing those orders.' Those were exactly my words," The complainant said. "He said, 'This is how you want to play?' He took two steps back, turned around to the officer and said, 'Take her.' They turned me around, handcuffed me, and took me in."

The complainant said she was aware police would be coming to apprehend her 11-year-old son based on a criminal complaint, and that she just wanted to see the warrant. As it turns out, that warrant didn't exist. She spent the night in jail while her son was left at home.

"He told me it was their duty to come pick up my son," She said. "Yet, I had someone stay the night at my house. They never came back that evening, they never came to pick up my son, or do what they told me they were there to do in the beginning."

"This occurred on May 29 when they went out to apprehend this young man," Dwight McDonald, the family's attorney, said. "The directive to apprehend was not signed until May 30, which is another indication that they didn't have the authority to go out and arrest him or apprehend this young man."

The Slaton Police Department is willing to issue an apology, but McDonald said that's not enough.

"If she moves out of Slaton and tries to find a job elsewhere, you can Google her name, and at that point, the arrest, my guess is, is going to show up," McDonald said.

"I will accept an apology, but what is that going to do?" The complainant said. "It's not going to take my picture off the internet sites that have been posted, from being published in the newspaper, from where I work. I've never been in trouble, in 32 years of my life, from anything, and to get thrown in jail because I asked a question is not right."

McDonald said the Slaton Police Department will issue an apology as long as the mother agrees not to file a lawsuit. He said unless she is compensated for her expenses and the trauma she's been through, a lawsuit won't be out of the question.

  1. i'd not settle for a paltry apology (which has no sincerity anyway), i would file a lawsuit. Not only is that wrong, it is obscenely wrong.

  7. Slaton, TX!! Absolutely pursue litigation. I, for one, am disgusted by thugs and bullies masquerading as law officers who act as though they are above following lawful procedure. Those officers are merely a reflection of the collective consciousness of our nation. As citizens, we must reclaim our moral compass and return to the rule of law or we will continue to descend into total chaos.

  8. people need to start suing the pants off rogue police departments or else it wont stop, it will just get worse.

  9. Please determine if this policeman is an ex-military policeman. The BIG problem with public employees who were in the same capacity in the military is that they cannot distinguish between the two environments. Military bases have security measures that far exceed those in the civilian community. When military police are hired as civilian police, they sustain that authoritarian attitude which, in many cases, is in direct conflict with the civil rights of civilians.

  10. And this is why, in this nation, it is now necessary to answer the door to police only if you have a loaded and cocked gun in hand and out of sight. I would suggest not answering at all. Thee pigs are the enemy of the people. If they come to your door, it is highly likely they mean to do you harm.

  11. They are definitely right about the Google part. That crap will be difficult in the extreme to get off of the first page when/if someone Googles her.

And the funny thing about that, is the main website that's destroying people's on line reputations is based in Panama. So they pretty much can destroy at will and Google keeps their libelous activities front and center.

  12. They are trying to scare her... they only arrested her because she was savvy enough to actually ask to see a warrant. They were not expecting that, they figured they could come in and just take the kid no questions asked. But since she insisted, they had to arrest her to shut her up because they had lied. Now that she is released they think they can hold the shame of her arrest over her head to quiet her from making more noise and filing a lawsuit.

I hope not only that she files the lawsuit and reaps what she deserves, ESPECIALLY since the whole fiasco blemishes her credibility for work etc. I hope they issue a formal apology which receives a ton of press. I hope they remove her from the record as having been arrested. And I hope those officers involved are suspended and removed from the force.

  13. This article never tells us why they were coming for her son. I cannot imagine that he could have done too much wrong at 11 years old. Also, it is
my understanding that these police that seem to be over zealous in their handling and dealing with the public, are really Israeli's incorporated into the ranks of both police and military. That could be the difference. I just cannot see our citizenry, born and raised in the US acting like this. Besides where are our laws>

    Thank you.

  14. The Communist JEWS who enslaved Russians and created the Soviet Union have infiltrated the USA and are turning the USA into a JEW run shithole like the Soviet Union and Israhell. 109 times these sick JEWS have had to be removed from territory after territory throughout history.

  16. SUE THEM. Why would she hesitate? This is open-and-closed. The cops AS ALWAYS were DEAD WRONG. No warrant. Say, let's all take a look at the Constitution and Bill of Rights and read what it says.

These cops ought to be blacklisted for life so they can't slime off to the next department and contaminate it.

  17. If she doesn't sue the shit out of them, then she's an idiot. She should not only sue the department, she should sue each officer involved personally, and then sue the city. An apology? The only reason these pigs are even CONSIDERING an apology is because they got busted. They're not sorry for ANYTHING. They're PIGS AND THUGS. They'll apologize if she promises not to sue them? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! My response to that would be, "In that case, you can keep your f***ing apology, and I'll see every one of you f***ing pigs in court."

  18. Sue the bast*rds! Hitting them in the pocketbook is all they understand.

  19. She should totally sue them. Cops have no right to execute a search or an arrest without probable cause or a warrant. The mother had every right to ask to see the warrant. What is with LEO's these days?! It's like they've all forgotten who actually pays their salaries (us).

    ReplyDelete
  20. Not bloody likely. LEO's can get away with everything these days because of so-called "qualified immunity" which is a sick joke. If they were actually prosecuted and/or held accountable for crimes than we wouldn't be seeing nearly the level of violence and overall thuggish behavior from cops that we are now. It needs to end now. Hold cops responsible for crimes. I'm praying that this poor mother gets some sympathy from the justice system, but with the way things are now I just don't see it happening. It's sad, but the good thing is that this story is out there, so no one will be able to hind behind falsified reports and slanderous accusations. I've seen good cops before, unfortunately the system is so broken and corrupted that it renders true peace officers ineffectual. There's no easy way to solve this problem but getting the word out about cop abuse of the citizenry is a start.
