Strange Macaroni Robbery Turns Into a Laughingstock…But Not for the Mom of One of the Thieves

Last week, a seemingly hilarious and almost TV-sitcom-quality heist took place in upstate New York, when a trio of thieves robbed a Build-A-Burger restaurant.
The gang had almost gotten away, but the police were able to find them by following a trail of macaroni salad that the thieves had taken turns eating while on the run.
Inspired by the explosive growth in sales of their macaroni salad, Build-A-Burger put a sign outside their restaurant:

“The best burgers & mac salad worth stealing for.”
Since the robbery, Build-A-Burger can’t keep up with the amount of macaroni salad orders they are selling. People are coming from miles away to have a taste of the food that was apparently worth stealing.
There is one catch: one of the thieves’ mothers has come out in defense of her 23-year-old son, Timothy Walker, who took part in the now-infamous heist. As it turns out, Amy Baileys’ son Timothy is a heroin addict,WHAM reports.
Bailey was interviewed about the incident:
“He’s not okay. He’s in jail. He’s suffering from a disease.”
Bailey feels as if the restaurant and others are exploiting her son’s illness to drive business, rather than supporting his recovery:
“I don’t understand how he is supposed to get better if we don’t work together.”
According to WHAM, Build-A-Burger has said that they won’t take down the sign despite the mother’s complaints. But, one of the owners said he hoped the three robbers get the help they need.
