Is El Chapo hiding in Costa Rica? Net closes on the world's most wanted drug lord after his son forgets to switch off location data in Twitter
Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman made a dramatic escape from a Mexican jail in July via an elaborate tunnel, but his son may have given away his whereabouts on Twitter.
Jesus Alfredo Guzman Salazar, El Chapo's son, tweeted a picture of himself with two other men on Aug. 31. "Costa Rica" appeared at the bottom of the time- and date-stamped tweet, reports the Daily Mail.
Uproxx.com notes that Salazar likely forgot to turn off Twitter's geotagging feature, which reveals where a pic was taken.
The picture shows Salazar eating with two other men whose faces partially hidden by an emtoicon, and includes the caption: "August here, you already know with whom."
Costa Rica’s Judicial Investigative Police are now investigating to see if El Chapo is hiding in their country.
Mexico has offered a $3.8 million reward for the escaped drug lord, and the U.S. has added an extra $5 million.
