5 reasons why PM Narendra Modi is a health & fitness icon

Being responsible for managing a country as big as India is certainly no mean feat. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has to do plenty of travelling across the world, and meet lots of people. Here are a few things that keeps him healthy.
Narendra Modi wakes up as early as 5 a.m in the morning. Studies have shown that early risers feel happier in life and report lesser risk of depression.
Narendra Modi regularly practises Yoga for an hour daily early in the morning, which improves both his physical and mental well-being.
Modi says that since he leads a public life, he cannot have very sensitive taste buds. He eats whatever is available, and likes to eat simple Gujrati food. During Navratri, Modi goes on nine-day fasts where he eats only fruits. Recently, Modi had maintained this religious practice while going to United States of America. However, this is not a healthy practice and takes a toll on the body.
As a leader, Modi has to give plenty of speeches and lectures, and thus has to take good care of his throat. He consumes lukewarm water even during summers to prevent a sore throat.
Modi is a vegetarian. Studies have shown that people who do not eat non-vegetarian food have a lower risk of heart disease and diabetes.
