Robert Gehl reports on political correctness run amok in school:
Parent Bianca Gutierrez told KTVU that school officials should have decided, prior to the election and students’ campaigns, how they wanted to ensure the election results would be more diverse. She said her son, who was running for class representative, doesn’t want to be a part of student government anymore as the whole ordeal has been discouraging.
All this principal is teaching students is that the democratic process is a sham, that your overlords can nullify an election and those in power will decide for you who your leaders truly are.
Clearly taking cues from today’s liberal “social justice warriors,” Haren said that she wants “all voices heard from all backgrounds.” And since an election where every person gets a vote is precisely what that is, it’s not good enough.Because “diversity” is more important than “democracy,” a principal at a middle school in San Francisco iswithholding the results of a school election.Everett Middle School’s student body is 80 percent minority and Principal Lena Van Haren has decided the result didn’t reflect that “diversity,” so she’s decided not to let anybody know who won.

“So if we can’t teach them the right way of how it’s supposed to work, then we are really letting our kids down,” Gutierrez said. “My heart goes out to the kids because they’re confused still about what’s the issue.”
Sebastian Kaplan, a student who was running for one of the student-body seats, sees the principal’s move for what it is.
“I feel like it is disrespectful to everyone who were running,” he said.
“The organizers are saying stuff like, ‘we want everyone’s voice to be heard,’ but then in truth, the voters’ voices aren’t being heard,” Kaplan said. “Most kids are in agreement that it’s not fair and that the results need to be given out because people worked really hard on it.”
“We’re not nullifying the election, we’re not canceling the election, and we’re not saying this didn’t count,” Van Haren said, adding that she’s called a meeting of student representatives to see how best to move forward.
Van Haren is clearly full of crap. She’s said she’d like to see positions “added” and filled by people of color, to create “equality” which is precisely the opposite of how the democratic process works. It’s what they do in dictatorships.

Hmm … maybe she is preparing them for the future after all.
