Medicinal Mushrooms

Medicinal mushrooms have been a large part of eastern medicine for many years. We in the west have to been so fortunate. In western medicinal a patient is traditionally treated when they are sick, where in eastern it is often different as Harlan Lahti B.Sc comments “In the Chinese medical system, the doctors are paid when the patient is healthy; Not when the patient is sick” In Japan and China they are commonly used as an alternative to chemotherapy.

By boosting the bodies immune system and balancing out the bodies function, they are able to prevent and treat many of the Illness’ and disease we face today. Clinical research has proven medicinal mushroom extracts to be beneficial in the treatment and prevention of AIDS, Cancer, Depression, Arthritis, Hepatitis, Dementia, Asthma,Diabetes type 1 and type 2 and the common cold and flu, just to name a few.

Mushrooms such as Resihi, Cordyceps, Lion’s Mane, Agaricus Blazei, shiitake, and Maitake are found to possess virus-fighting, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties, medicinal mushrooms also contain compounds (called polysaccharides) that may help stimulate the immune system.

Keeping medicinal mushrooms supplements a part of your daily routine, helps to ward off some of these ailments before they happen, for instance someone who takes Red Reishi mushroom regularly may after a few weeks notice a lack of fatigue, and a reduction in stress. They may notice they are not getting the colds and flu’s others around them are getting. A general sense of balance and well being that did not exist before is common.

For those suffering from serious maladies such as AIDS, Cancer, Depression, Asthma, Diabetes, Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s, medicinal mushrooms could be an essential part in the treatment process. Research has shown these medicinal mushrooms to boost heart health, promote immune function, Combat allergies, ward off viruses and bacteria, reduce inflammation, help balance blood sugar levels; and support the body’s detoxification mechanisms.

Mushroom extract powders can be used to make tonics, tea, or even soup. 1 teaspoon is the daily recommended dose for tea. Studies show that to aid the body in full absorption of the mushroom extract it is recommended to drink plenty of water throughout the day and be taken with Vitamin C. I personally have seen the changes these mushroom extracts have made in peoples lives through my work at Fungi Health, and in my own life. They are truly miraculous.
