Outraged Democrats Demand Name Change to Ronald Reagan National Airport

It seems many Democrats are still smarting from a 17-year-old political wound. No, we aren’t talking about former President Bill Clinton’s affair with Monica Lewinsky, although we’ll probably hear a lot more about THAT in the next year and a half as the potential for the Clintons to return to the White House mounts.
What we’re talking about is Reagan National Airport in Washington, DC, and how Democrats are insisting on a name change. Because why not?
Appearing to find offense in something new every day, some Democrats admit they are still holding a grudge that the Arlington, Va., airport was named after Ronald Reagan.

In an unscientific survey posted online Wednesday by The Washington Post, more than half of the 42,082 respondents said they opposed the 1998 decision to change the name of the Washington National airport to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. Of course, 62 percent of them identified themselves as Democrats.
Meanwhile, 72 percent of Republican respondents said they call the airport “Reagan,” while only 35 percent of the Democratic respondents said they call it by that name. Most said they referred to it as “National.”
One respondent, Jason West, 57, said he is still bitter about the name change.
“I’m still mad about the name, because of how it got passed,” he told The Post. “It got forced upon all the people here by a small group of powerful men in Congress.
“It’s almost like all those Republicans wanted to stick a middle finger up to all the people who live here,” he added. “I don’t know why Clinton didn’t veto it.”
Clinton’s former press secretary, Mike McCurry, offered a rather honest answer to West’s question.
“My memory is that in February 1998, we were rather occupied at the White House with a young lady named Monica [Lewinsky],” he told The Post. “I have faint memories of this being a big deal on Capitol Hill, but I think we pretty much stayed out of it.”

  2. It is sad to see how stupid Americans have become but it is no accident and will only get worse, before it gets better.

  3. I remember when Cape Kennedy was renamed back to Cape Canaveral. Makes sense. JFK was the last quality president we had. No wonder he was offed.

  4. Yeah, God knows we wouldn't want to return it to Washington National, named after our first president, when a brain-addled B-actor's name will still do.

My dad worked at Washington National, I am no Democrat (or Republican both thoroughly corrupt to the gills), and I have never called it "Reagan International", ever.

    What a sick joke.

  5. I never understand why people think Reagan was a great conservative! Reagan started us on the slide of debt-death, preferring to use "credit cards" to hide his excess spending and shove the inflation/debt onto coming generations. The red ink rolled under Ronny like at no time after WWII. Yet, the party faithful totally ignored that for whatever reason I will never know. Reagan waged war on the Working People of America (1)Launching the war with his attack on unionization, firing the air-traffic controllers and (2) Introducing the concepts of low paid part-time and contract workers. Remember how Henry Ford introduced the concept that if you paid your people enough money, they would/could buy the products they were building? Well Reagan destroyed that concept, and brought us HERE, to THIS economic crash. Reagan was no "hero" who destroyed Communism. Reagan was a coward who HID the fact that the USSR was dead on it's feet and collapsing. Reagan created fear in the People to get support for a wasteful looting of the Public Treasury by the Military Industrial Thieves. Finally, Reagan, the week after leaving office, ran over to Japan to collect at LEAST $6MILLION in "speaking fees" which was a nice term for BRIBE for keeping our markets open to the Japanese, and thus SELLING OUT American Workers. No, Reagan was not a great man, he was a Low Life Credit Card spendthrift.
Raygunomics...tax more and spend a whole lot more...that ol' boy keeps getting resurrected...his true legacy is the beginning of "deficits don't matter"...and a central/big gov't can control the economy.
And another thing --- america became a war mongering state on the day that an all volunteer military (another Reagan screwup) became a reality, in the aftermath of the VN war. Thus ensuring more riches for the WAR PROFITEERS
Raygun was the genesis person of criminal spending...sworn in with a trillion is debt...sworn out with four trillion...the most in percentage terms of any POTUS in history including the current dumbass.

  6. WHY and by WHOM an American President was MURDERED
"We are concerned with the disturbing effects on world stability which would accompany the development of nuclear weapons capability by Israel. I cannot imagine that the Arabs would refrain from turning to the Soviet Union for assistance if Israel were to develop nuclear weapons capability–with all the consequences this would hold. But the problem is much larger than its impact on the Middle East. Development of nuclear weapons capability by Israel would almost certainly lead other larger countries, that have so far refrained from such development, to feel that they must follow suit"- John F. Kennedy.
