What the DMV Wrote on One Woman’s Driver’s License Was So Bad — Now She’s Suing Them

Forty-two-year-old Floridian Tammy Lemaster got a little more than she bargained for, when she went in to renew her driver’s license. She wanted to be an organ donor, but a DMV computer mistakenly labeled her something else—and it’s having a huge impact on her life.
What did they call her?

Yes, a sexual predator.
In the weeks after she received the license, Tammy was turned down for hotel rooms and even denied a discount for Florida residents at Disney World:
“I was afraid to drive in my car. I was afraid of getting pulled over…”
Tammy is considering suing the state for the embarrassment and inconvenience she’s faced while having this “scarlet letter” on her license.
The DMV has since replaced her license and is working on fixing the flawed system so this doesn’t happen to anyone else.
