A Democratic House Rep. Posted The Speaker Job To Craigslist And It Is Hilarious

This is great. U.S. House Representative Mark Takano (D-CA) posted a job listing on Craigslist for the next Speaker of the House. Takano is congressman who represents California’s 41st District. He is a member of both the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee and the House Education and Workforce Committee. The job listing contains a spot on list of requirements that are needed for the job. Personally, my favorite line in the brilliant piece of satire is the requirement that the applicant must have “Proven ability to work with irrational people who pursue narrow priorities at the expense of millions of others.”  The job listing comes just hours after U.S. Representative Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) dropped out of the race for the position recently vacated by Republican John Boehner.

Here is a transcript of the job listing below:
Are you an American Citizen? Do you have experience negotiating hostage situations? Are you ready for the challenge of a lifetime? Then this job is for you!
We are seeking an extremely patient and motivated person to lead the U.S. House of Representatives.

-Avoiding a default on U.S. debt

-Explaining to the “Freedom Caucus” the concepts of compromise and democratic governance
Requirements
-Proven ability to work with irrational people who pursue narrow priorities at the expense of millions of others

Please e-mail resume and an outline of your plan to TheNextFrankUnderwood [at] gmail [dot] com.
RINOs NEED NOT REPLY
Takano is known for being one of the funniest people in Congress. He frequently trolls Republicans on social media, in the process shinning a light on just how nutty the Republican Party has become.
